I got these twines in a box that had buttons in it as well from Dovecraft, Heather has had a look at them and she thinks they might be wool, she thinks the pink one is the soft wool that you get in those scarf kits, and that the other might be a mohair, What do you think??

Oooh fluffy fibres !! I have a lovely big bag of these in lots of different colours and textures-i use mine instead of ribbon sometimes on my cards-and they look great when you use several strands tied through the hole of a gift tag too :)
Both are speciality yarns used in knitting (a bugger to knit/crochet even though one combines them with a regular type strand). The blue is called "eyelash" and the pink is called "loopy" (rather obvious, eh?). They have been popular among the card crafters for years for use as one would ribbon or twine. The eyelash style, the loopy style and several other styles (such as knubby) are manufactured from both synthetic and natural fibers.
I think Heather is right Kevin it does look like wool, very pretty though

I can tell you that the blue one I have knitted and it is wool and the pink one I am sure is wool.
I knitted a cardigan in the blue wool and it was a lovely cardie, just a bit itchy

I too have a large collection of these fibers. I used to use them all the time, but they have gotten pushed to the back of my mind and I forget to use them. They add dimension color and texture to a card. I need to pull out my stash. Time for a change!
I think that's a very good question? It does look like something to used when knitting or crocheting scarves. I hope you will enlighten us!

Where I live on the west coast of Canada, those are made in synthetics as well. The first can be very pretty in white as it is a bit glisteny and sort of shimmery. I can be lovely on winter cards, kind of tucked in behind an embellishment cluster alaong with some gauze snippets.
The second i have seen at the knitting shops and not sure what it is made of.
These are both lovely Kevin, the blue one looks like Mohair but no sure on the pink.
They are both gorgeous though.

Yes I think these are both wool Kevin...
I am knitting a scarf with some grey wool which is similar to your green.... when knitted up it comes out all fluffy and furry... very nice and cosy !! :-)))

Kevin, I have a scarf which I wear all the time in winter thats made with the mohair one here. A frined knitted it for me about 10 years ago and really keeps one warm.

Hi Kevin, now you mention it they do look like the yarns that you get in those scarf kits. In fact, I'm sure I had some odd bits left over somewhere from making scarves. I shall have to look for them so i can put them on a card. Thanks for the post and the info.
I think Heather is right altho tbh I'm not that clued up on a lot of wool. They are gorgeous tho especially the mohair one, the colour is lush.

The blue one is called Eyelash yarn and I think the pink one is Loopy yarn. Not sure what they are made of but I've bought several that are just synthetic. Hope that helps!
