My Salt Dough Figures

I thought I would add my salt dough creations to my blog, most of these items where made 2009 -2010 I really enjoy making them, they take hours to model,

the recipe
8oz plain flour
4oz table salt
1 teaspoon of cooking oil
water,
Mix together to make a dough, it should be firm like pastry.
then model as you wish to.
Bake in the oven at a low heat for 3 to 4 hours until completely dried out. then you can paint them as you wish, or just varnish.
Figures will last a life time if they are well varnished, I always give 3 coats just to make sure .

I make them as gifts for friends and family
